Southwark Council has launched an online information service to make it easier for the borough’s residents to find out what is available in their locality.

In My Area contains info on services such as recycling sites, parking zones, libraries and leisure centres and inspect planning applications, council tax bading and contact details for their local councillor.

The software uses an interactive map of the area using Google StreetView.

How it works:

As a citizen, you simply enter your postcode to find all sorts of information about your location, such as:

  • Your nearest recycling sites or planning applications
  • Your refuse and recycling collections dates
  • Who your local councillor is
  • Conservation areas or controlled parking zones
