We are going to be looking at how Local Authorities can deliver better services in the area of Waste & Recycling, a service that affects all councils, providing large volumes of customer contact (which could be avoided), generate significant income for the organisation (Bulky Uplifts, new bins etc.) and has been the focus of a significant LocalDigital funded project led by North East Lincolnshire Council.

This 1 day event will look at how local authorities are:

delivering significant savings through process improvement
able to use data visualisation to reduce failure, avoid multiple contacts and focus on delivery of the service.
use “voice first” channels like Alexa to find out Bin Collection Dates & Report a Missed bin
increase & generate revenues through improved customer experience in areas such as Garden Waste, Commercial Waste, Bulky Uplifts etc.
use of Nudge Theory/Gamification to increase recycling & decrease litter
making use of in-cab technology on bin carts to maximise the use of a costly Council asset

The day will consist of a series of:

best practice talks
interactive workshops
roundtable discussions

The day will start at 9:30am and finish at 4.15pm and all refreshments and lunch will be provided
